Claude Lefort e as origens do republicanismo moderno: O nascimento da ideologia
the aim of this article is to show that Claude Lefort's critique of ideology is relevant to republican thought. As a rule, Lefort's relationship with republicanism gravitates around his interpretation of Machiavelli's conflict theory, which seems to us perfectly justified. However, we believe that it is equally necessary, in order to better understand Lefort's contribution to republicanism, to remember that his reading of Machiavelli also includes a critique of what he called the 'Florentine ideology', understood as the discourse that aims to conceal social division -spreading the image of a harmonious city -and difference in time -claiming full continuity between Florence and Rome.
