Att leda i osäkerhet : En kvalitativ studie om hur projektledare kan utveckla sitt ledarskap
This study examined the strengths, weaknesses, and organisational challenges faced by project managers within Skellefteå Kraft. The aim was to identify areas for development that could enhance leadership, team dynamics, and motivation. The study was based on a qualitative method, where project managers from various departments within the organisation were interviewed. To analyse project leadership, two leadership theories were applied: transformational and situational leadership. The results showed that flexibility, communication, and engagement were key strengths among project managers, although conflict management, patience and the difficulty of saying no emerged as some of the challenges. Organisational factors such as resource shortage, change management, and lacking communication were identified as significant obstacles affecting project managers’ work. The study also highlighted the importance of feedback and support, emphasizing that a clear structure and regular follow-up could strengthen both leadership and team collaboration. To further develop project leadership, several critical areas were identified. Increasing awareness of the impact of leadership styles, improving feedback mechanisms and support structures, and implementing clearer strategies to enhance motivation and team cohesion were among the proposed improvements. The study suggested that a more deliberate and active application of transformational and situational leadership could equip project managers with better tools to navigate challenges and improve team performance.
