Aplicación de herramientas participativas en la promoción de la salud en atención primaria
Community participation constitutes a fundamental pillar in building more inclusive, sustainable, and culturally relevant health systems. In this context, participatory tools have emerged as key methodological strategies to strengthen health promotion at the primary care level. This study aims to analyze participatory tools as effective strategies for involving communities in health-related decision-making and program planning. A systematic review with a mixed-methods approach was conducted, based on the PRISMA protocol. The search was carried out in databases such as PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, SciELO, among others, considering publications from 2020 to 2025. Sixteen studies were selected that met the inclusion criteria, prioritizing documented experiences in health promotion through participatory techniques. The results show that tools such as photovoice, participatory mapping, participatory budgeting, and social prescribing enhance community empowerment, improve equity in access, and foster greater local ownership of interventions. These strategies are closely aligned with the principles of the Comprehensive Family, Community, and Intercultural Health Care Model (MAIS-FCI), although their sustained implementation still faces institutional and structural challenges.
