Análisis Comparativo de Programas de Maestrías en Diseño y Manufactura Avanzada

The article presents a comparative analysis of postgraduate academic offerings at the master’s level in Advanced Design and Manufacturing, employing a mixed-methods approach that integrates both qualitative and quantitative analyses. The quantitative component involved statistical procedures such as frequency calculations and measures of central tendency, using the SPSS software, within a non-experimental, cross-sectional design. The variables analyzed included program duration, academic credits, and the number of courses offered. On the other hand, the qualitative analysis focused on the examination of general and specific competencies, based on a document review of curricula. The results indicate that, on average, the programs include 14 courses, 77 credits, and an estimated duration of 1.5 years. The academic offerings share common areas such as Design, Manufacturing, Advanced Engineering, Production and Management, Innovation and Sustainability, Materials, and Mathematics, among others. Specific competencies encompass advanced skills in design, optimization, automation, and sustainable development in manufacturing, as well as the ability to lead innovative projects and enhance industrial processes efficiently.
