Етичні аспекти інтеграції штучного інтелекту у сфері культурної спадщини: закордонний дискурс

The purpose of the article is to identify ethical challenges associated with using AI technology in the cultural heritage field. Research methodology. The methods of analysis and synthesis, generalisation and abstraction were used, allowing the goal to be achieved. The scientific novelty lies in introducing into scientific circulation the work of foreign researchers on the ethical challenges of the use of artificial intelligence technologies in the field of cultural heritage, supplementing ideas about the specifics of the development of artificial intelligence tools, which should mitigate the risks associated with cultural appropriation, distortion and exploitation, and at the same time strive for greater cultural sensitivity and inclusiveness, ensuring equal representation of all cultures and values of humanity in the digital space. Conclusions. As digital preservation tools become more sophisticated and diverse, AI will play an increasingly important role in conserving cultural heritage sites at risk of extinction due to war and other factors. These technologies have the potential to radically modernise conservation practices, making them more effective and accessible, but only if they are used ethically and thoughtfully, which requires careful prior consideration and joint action at the level of national and international institutions. It is implied that maintaining a human-centred approach to integrating AI is paramount, ensuring that ethical considerations, cultural sensitivity and the level of interpretation brought by human experts are not undermined or ignored altogether by technological progress. The discussion of the importance of human participation in AI-driven conservation efforts highlights the indispensable value of human empathy, ethical considerations and cultural understanding in ensuring respect for the integrity and significance of cultural heritage. Such a balanced approach increases the technical effectiveness of conservation measures and ensures that they are implemented with a high degree of ethical compliance.
