Vigilância em saúde da UFSM: proposta de sistema de gestão para identificação das doenças relacionadas ao trabalho
The relationship between employee health and occupational safety management is essential for the prevention of occupational diseases. This case study, with a mixed approach, combined statistical and content analysis to propose a Management System for the Employee Health Care Unit at the Federal University of Santa Maria. Records of leaves for health treatment and accidents on the job of employees between 2013 and 2021 were analyzed, following inclusion criteria according to the International Classification of Diseases. A structured questionnaire was applied to 33 professionals from the Unit to understand perceptions about management at work and the impact of occupational diseases. The results showed nursing technicians as the most affected by diseases in group F of the ICD-10, followed by group M in LTS. Based on these findings, the SWOT Matrix, the PDCA Cycle and the Occupational Health and Safety Management Tree Theory were applied, resulting in action proposals for the Santa Maria University Hospital. Therefore, it is expected that the result will impact the reduction of underreporting, optimize absence management and strengthen preventive actions, promoting a safer and more efficient work environment at UFSM.
