Una nación sin fronteras: prácticas editoriales y discursos ideológicos en la ciencia ficción de la revista literatura soviética para américa latina y el caribe (1982)

This article analyzes the editorial practices and ideological discourses of the journal Soviet Literature throughout 1982, confronting them with the editorial model of the Western market that predominated during the twentieth century. Based on the study of the twelve issues published during that period, we describe the strategies of creation, composition, financing and circulation adopted by the Writers’ Union of the USSR, aimed at both strengthening its literary field and projecting its cultural influence on Latin America and the Caribbean. Although these practices developed under the strict guidelines of socialist realism, Soviet writers managed to preserve a significant creative agency, deploying narrative resources that enriched the literary horizon of the time. Within this framework, the article gives a central place to the analysis of science fiction as a privileged medium for the dissemination of communist values and the critique of capitalism, thus revealing the role of the magazine as an instrument of cultural diplomacy in the context of the Cold War.
