Sospecha de maltrato en adultos mayores de 60 años adscritos a la UMF 56 de León, Guanajuato
Introduction: Suspicion of elder abuse is a presumption or indication that an older person could be a victim of abuse, neglect or exploitation. This abuse can manifest itself in various ways, such as physical, emotional or sexual abuse, poor care or financial problems. Suspicion can be thought with physical signs (unexplained injuries), changes in behavior, inadequate living conditions or economic crisis. Identifying and addressing these suspicions is crucial to protecting the health and well-being of the elderly group. General objective: Identify the prevalence of suspected abuse in adults over 60 years of age assigned to the UMF 56. Material and methods: Quantitative, descriptive study, n=231 adult patients over 60 years of age; 95% confidence level, 3% precision, 5% expected proportion, using a formula to estimate an infinite proportion. Results: of the women surveyed with suspected abuse, 20.7% had an average age of 69 years; 19 % showed data of psychological abuse, 1% physical, 1% economic and 1% abandonment. 58% were women dedicated to the home, in a free union.
