Sistemas de medición de gases de efecto invernadero en explotaciones lácteas: revisión bibliográfica

It is estimated that, due to climate change, the Earth’s average global temperature will increase between 1 and 5.7 ºC by the end of the 21st century. The primary sector is directly responsible for 20% of anthropogenic greenhouse gases. The main objective of this literature review is to gather the most up-to-date information possible on the different methods of measuring greenhouse gases, in order to find the most useful one(s) for continuous and simple analysis in dairy cattle farms. We can classify the measurement methods depending on how they measure greenhouse gases into: direct systems, indirect systems, and semi-indirect systems. The choice of measurement method will depend on the farm to be studied, the necessary equipment, knowledge, economic investment, and the time available to the farm operator. The development of a continuous measurement tool applicable to a large number of animals is necessary in order to compare emissions among different farming systems.
