Revisión a los estudios sobre el monumento y su relación con la escultura en la provincia de Guanentá, Santander

This paper reviews the studies related to the monument, heritage and sculpture in the department of Santander, Colombia, and reflects on the presence of sculptures and monuments in the media, in order to outline a work route that allows a historiographic and artistic exploration of the sculptural heritage of the province of Guanentá, Santander, Colombia. The study arises in response to three questions: firstly, to a scarce academic production on art and movable heritage in the province of Guanentá; secondly, as a criticism of the monuments that do have visibility, for being part of a tourist proposal; and finally, it is intended to be an input that encourages future local and departmental work.
