Reimagining the Future of Online Distance Learning: an appreciative inquiry into what works for online distance learning students using experienced students' storytelling about their student superpowers

Are you keen to understand what the future of online distance learning might look like as told by students themselves? This presentation shared some fascinating key findings from a research study in the UK Open University which used appreciative enquiry as an approach enabling students to tell us in their own words - using free text storytelling - what works for them in a large online distance-learning university and how they would imagine distance learning and assessment in 2030. Student voice data presented provided very specific ideas as to what works well for online distance learners. Stress was seen by some students as an enabler and a key element to their student superpowers, while for other students stress was something to avoid because their student superpower involved being well organised and planning time effectively.
