PLASMA-LIPS: Plasma Liquid Activation System for Multi-Scale Applications - Laboratory to Industrial Pilot Solutions

In this study, we introduce a plasma liquid activation system that effectively bridges the gap between laboratory research and industrial pilot applications by utilizing plasmatreated liquids generated via a commercial plasma generator integrated with an adaptable mixing reactor, which is capable of operating at volumes ranging from 1000 milliliters to 25 liters (Fig. 1). The innovative design leverages the induction of overpressure within the reactor to enhance the dissolution of reactive species, while a flexible bubble generator further increases the gasliquid contact area, thereby improving biocidal capacity, oxidation efficiency, and chemical synthesis performance. This transportable and fully automated system facilitates onsite testing, process optimization, and seamless scaling across diverse industrial environments such as water treatment, agriculture, food safety, healthcare, and pharmaceutical production. Moreover, it maintains prolonged stability and effectiveness of the treated liquids by ensuring optimal operational conditions and precise control over treatment parameters, which is essential for achieving reproducible and reliable results. The systems flexible configuration and automated control also support collaborative research and development, offering significant potential for advancing liquid treatment processes and expanding the practical applications of plasma technology in a wide range of sectors.
