Percepción de la autoeficacia materna en madres primerizas adolescentes de la Amazonia peruana
The study analyzed the perception of maternal self-efficacy in first-time adolescent mothers belonging to the district of Mazamari in the Peruvian Amazon. It employed a qualitative approach and a hermeneutic phenomenological design. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with 14 adolescents between 14 and 19 years of age. ATLAS.ti 9 software was used for the analysis. The results indicate that the perception of self-efficacy is influenced by performance achievement, vicarious experience, verbal persuasion and the physical and psychological state of the mothers. It was found that having previous experience caring for siblings, the presence of favorable maternal role models, and receiving emotional and infor-mational support, generate an adequate perception of self-efficacy, manifesting itself in the assimilation and adaptation to motherhood.
