Patosistemas Múltiples en Híbridos de Maíz (Zea Mays) en Chaco, Argentina
In the Argentine Northeast (NEA) the sowing area in the last campaign was 820,000 ha. The crop is affected by different diseases, including leaf diseases, such as northen corn leaf blight and gray spot. The occurrence of multiple diseases can alter the economic decision-making criteria for control compared to a situation of isolated diseases. With the aim of identifying multiple infections of foliar pathogens in maize hybrids, samplings were carried out during the 2021/22 campaign, to record on the leaves of the spike (he), the immediately superior (he+1) and the immediately inferior (he-1) of 13 hybrids evaluated in Tres Isletas, Chaco. In most of the hybrids, multiple foliar infections were not observed on the same hosts, except in the hybrid N 7921 VIP, where there was multiple interaction in all the leaves of the same plant. It can be seen that, under the same production conditions, multiple infections may be dependent, among other factors, on the type of hybrid and, in some cases, on the position of the leaf with respect to the ear.
