O vírus da fome: os impactos da pandemia da Covid-19 na insegurança alimentar latino-americana
Latin America is a historically fragile region, marked by the consequences of extractive colonialism, as a dependent economy focused on commodity exports and unregulated labor. In this scenario, what are the consequences of the Covid-19 pandemic, a global economic recession, rising food prices, and disruption of global supply and production chains in this region? In addition to the increase in poverty, unemployment, and the need for social assistance, it's the elevation of hunger. This work seeks to map the connections between the pandemic and hunger, analyzing whether there are international elements that interfere with these connections. Through the data from International Organizations, such as the United Nations and the Economic Commission for Friedman's Food Regimes Theory and Gudynas' Neoextractivism Theory.
