Optimización y desarrollo sostenible: viabilidad metodológica en el diseño de biomateriales para el entorno construido

Nature has become an important source of inspiration for technological and process innovation through translation mechanisms based on various disciplines of knowledge, such as Biology, Biotechnology, Engineering, Design and others that have contributed their expertise in the process of knowledge generation. In an integrative way, the different fields enhance this practice, interpreting the processes and ways in which nature itself has solved problems in processes of natural selection that have lasted millions of years and that can be taken up again to be taken to scales of anthropic application in an intentional way. This ‘translation’ of knowledge and its transfer to the built environment considers the organisational level of the material components with a view towards process optimisation, with the aim of approaching the viability of sustainable materials in this sense, A sequential methodological analysis was carried out in which the importance of the order of pre-treatment of by-products of plant origin was visualised in order to achieve the requirements of design and applicability through the deployment and potentiation of the properties of its components that notably influence the form, its structure, the process and its function, which were concluded to represent a strategy for the development of new materials.
