O impacto das estratégias de empresas brasileiras internacionalizadas nas demonstrações financeiras durante no primeiro ano da pandemia de COVID-19

This study aims to analyze the impact of the strategies adopted during the first year of the pandemic on the financial statements of Brazilian multinational companies. For this purpose, two leading companies from theFundação Dom Cabral ranking, based on the number of employees abroad, were studied: Fitesa and Metalfrio. The analysis focused on liquidity, indebtedness, and profitability ratios for the years 2019 and 2020. In Metalfrio, a significant increase in long-term debts and a 553% increase in net loss were observed. In contrast, Fitesa reported an increase in net profit, driven by sales growth, which saw a 48% increase during the period, resulting in substantial profit even during the first year of the Pandemic (Covid-19). It is concluded that, despite the distinct results, both companies faced high financial commitments due to exchange rate variation expenses during the pandemic.
