Modern directions of theater design

The article examines a new direction in the design of civil buildings – the parametric method, using the example of the Opera House in Townzhou, which is the largest cultural object in China (architect Z. Hadid). In this facility, all architectural elements are parametrically flexible. It should be noted that this refers to the fundamental ontological changes of the main core elements of the Opera building's architecture. Thus, instead of classical and modern forms of geometric shapes such as straight lines, rectangles, cubes, cylinders, pyramids, hemispheres, new living – dynamic, adaptive, variable, geometric forms of parametrism are used as fundamental geometric blocks of dynamic systems. The co-author of the Guangzhou Opera project was P. Schumacher, the ideological leader of parametricism, an architect, philosopher and software engineer in the field of digital architecture. With his arrival at Zaha Hadid's architectural office, the artistic style under his influence changed noticeably. The Opera House in Guangzhou looks like rounded pebbles surrounded by water, where two volumes rise from a topographically designed plinth. The auditorium for 1,800 seats is not visible from the outside - it is hidden in a dark gray granite shell, a multifunctional hall for 400 seats, hidden in a smaller volume (pebble) and faced with light gray granite panels. Ramps and stairs seem to lead to the crystal crown of the city, and the steel grid structure is reflected in the pool. Depending on the position of the observer, the volume of the Opera building can be presented as the cockpit of an airplane heading for the city, or inviting the visitor to enter the middle. You want to go around the whole building, get to know it and discover it for yourself. The Opera House in Guangzhou is one of the most ambitious architectural objects in China, and the audience hall can be considered unique.
