Mångfaldens kraft - verklighet eller illusion? : En studie om sambandet mellan mångfald och inkludering i relation till innovation och ekonomiska resultat i svenska organisationer

This study explores how Swedish organizations perceive the relationship between diversity and inclusion (D&I) efforts and their impact on innovation and financial performance. Using a qualitative approach and thematic analysis of interviews with key individuals - primarily DEI managers and HR specialists - in medium and large companies across various industries, the findings reveal that an inclusive culture and psychological safety are essential to transforming diversity into creativity and innovation. Strategic leadership, continuous competence development, and structured follow-up are highlighted as critical elements for achieving tangible outcomes. However, the study shows that direct financial effects are rarely measured, making evaluation difficult. A lack of effective measurement tools and inconsistent managerial engagement are identified as common challenges. The study contributes to a deeper understanding of how organizations in the Swedish context can work more strategically and sustainably with D&I to enhance innovation, competitiveness, and long-term growth.
