Leveraging Radiomics for Improved Diagnosis, Prognosis, and Treatment Response in Pancreatic Cancer
Radiomics is an active field that enables the extraction of high-throughput quantitative features from medical imaging, offering potential for improving cancer detection and prognostication. This study investigates two distinct applications of radiomics in pancreatic cancer: distinguishing cancer patients from healthy individuals using contrast-enhanced computed tomography (CT) and predicting survival outcomes for borderline resectable and locally advanced pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) patients treated with radiation therapy using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Our data suggested that radiomics analysis of CT and MRI has demonstrated promising potential in both cancer detection and survival prediction for pancreatic cancer. These findings pave the way for further exploration of radiomics in clinical decision-making and early detection of this aggressive disease.
