La pobreza monetaria inducida por el costo de la movilidad pendular al trabajo en Bogotá
The main objective of this article is to explain the local effects on monetary poverty of the daily mobility of workers and their return home, a pendular movement that takes place in a chaotic environment widely recognized by national and foreign organizations. The results indicate that monetary poverty can increase from 7 persons per km2 to 289 persons per km2 because of the time involved in all stages of displacement. The methodology was based on assuming the 112 Zonal Planning Units —UPZ— into which the urban area of Bogota is subdivided, as a unit of spatial analysis, with which the General Scheme of Residential Segregation, the Spatial Economic Structure and the daily commuting times were established. To achieve these results, the Geographically Weighted Regression method and the construction of a matrix of spatial weights of the UPZs were used.
