La importancia de las matemáticas en el diseño de videojuegos
Mathematics is a key part of video game development, providing the foundation for the creation of virtual worlds, game mechanics and realistic visual effects. From geometry and linear algebra, which enable the modeling of 2D and 3D characters and scenarios, to trigonometry, which facilitates the movement of cameras and personnel, every aspect of a video game is built on mathematical principles. Differential and integral calculus is fundamental in the simulation of physics, such as falling objects or collision detection, which enhances the sense of realism. In addition, statistics and probability play an important role in the generation of random content, artificial intelligence and in-game decision making, contributing to more challenging and dynamic experiences. Without the proper use of mathematics, video games would lose accuracy, fluidity and visual appeal, limiting their ability to immerse the player in a believable and immersive world.
