La reflexión académica sobre animación: una cartografía de su devenir en el siglo XXI
This article reviews the field of academic reflection on animation in book publications published in the 21st century. In previous academic reflection, research interest on animated audiovisuals was focused on two problems: techniques and their development for practical application; and the stories of authors and companies dedicated to animation. We found that with the turn of the century, and linked to the expansion and ubiquity of the phenomenon, a debate arose in which the questions of what, how and who animates moved towards new topics, opening new theoretical fields and new themes in the reflection on animated work as well as its poetics and aesthetics. Apparently having settled the historical reconstruction, we study in recent publications how the field of animation studies is delineated today. Finally, the lines of work developed in Argentina in the same period are approached.
