La máquina esclava. Las tecnologías digitales como servidumbres técnicas
This work is situated within the philosophy of technology, drawing particularly on the contributions of Heidegger, Hui, and Simondon to propose that digital technologies have been conceptualized, developed, and employed as technical servitudes. This is due to their status as the latest update of human material culture, which, since the Enlightenment, has been conceived instrumentally-framed through technique as Bestand (making available) rather than as a process of bringing into presence (truth). Digital technologies are inhabited by the figure of the tool-robot, whether in service to humanity or tasked with freeing it from its constraints. Liberating technology requires recognizing its relational and processual dimension, avoiding its reduction to a closed and homogeneous system. Opening up technique means challenging instrumentalism, understanding the human-machine relationship beyond an imposed functionality.
