Los emigrantes asturianos y la modernización de los sistemas de abastecimiento de agua (1880-1936)
In the inter-century period, Asturian emigrants began to finance dozens of infrastructures that allowed to improve the water supply situation in the rural areas of the region, and even in some cases to implant the modern water supply system. The aim of this work, after briefly analysing the state of the water supply in Asturias at that time and reviewing the different studies on the subject, is precisely to evaluate those actions of the Americans, seeking to understand their reasons; to review the ways in which they financed the different equipments; and to try to establish a quantification as accurate as possible of the infrastructures built, also seeking to assess the impact that this set of investments intended for modernising the water supply systems had on the daily lives of thousands of Asturian people
