La Inteligencia Artificial como aliada en el proceso creativo: un estudio de caso con celulosa bacteriana como biomaterial para el diseño

This article analyses the interaction between Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the creative process in design, focusing on the development of sustainable biomaterials, spe-cifically, bacterial cellulose (BC). AI can be used as a fundamental tool for idea generation, resource optimisation and task automation during biomaterials experimentation. Through a case study on the use of bacterial cellulose, we explore how AI improves both efficiency and sustainability in the research and production of this biomaterial. Bacterial cellulose, a biocompatible and environmentally friendly material, has been optimised through AI to create faster and more accurate processes for its manufacture and application. In addition, ethical challenges arising from the increasing reliance on AI, such as issues of authorship and the impact on creative employment, are addressed. It also reflects on the future impli-cations of the use of AI in design. The article concludes that AI enhances human creativity by facilitating the development of biomaterials such as bacterial cellulose, although careful management of its use is needed to balance technological benefits with ethical and social considerations.
