La Realidad Aumentada como Herramienta Didáctica para el Aprendizaje de la Geometría Espacial

This research paper proposes a teaching sequence mediated by augmented reality technology for learning spatial geometry, particularly circular bodies. Traditionally, in most educational institutions, the study of plane figures is prioritized, with little attention paid to spatial geometry. Furthermore, many students express reluctance or apathy when studying abstract geometry concepts because they struggle to recognize the properties of bodies or the plane development of figures. The Van Hiele model, designed to enhance geometric reasoning, was used to develop the learning sessions for the teaching sequence. Furthermore, collaborative learning was used to structure the learning activities of the teaching sequence in a way that fosters dynamism and teamwork. The sequence was found to be successful when applied to a group of ninth-grade students at an educational institution in Colombia.
