A importância do método do materialismo histórico-dialético para a pesquisa educacional

This article aims to discuss the importance of the historical-dialectical materialism method in educational research, based on some fundamental categories such as totality and contradiction. As a problem, we have the following question: What is the importance of the historical-dialectical materialism method for educational research? The studies of Marx (2013); Souza (2010); Konder (2004), Kosik (1976), Lenin (1975), among others, were used as theoretical foundation. The study revealed that the historical-dialectical materialism method is the only one capable of reaching the essence of the phenomenon, as it is the method of the proletariat and consequently of the revolution. Therefore, it is the only method capable of explaining the contradictions present in society.
