Género y edad en la profesión docente: una propuesta para la aplicación de políticas públicas

This paper makes a systematic study of the teaching profession, taking into consideration the items of age and gender, relating them to the public policies developed in Ibero-America. It is considered that the geographical location may influence its application, being an external and specific conditioner of each region. Methodologically, this is a qualitative research, based on documentary analysis, for which 16 publications, ten years old or less, collected from Google Scholar, a repository recognized for its academic prestige, were selected. The results show that both gender and age influence aspects such as work performance, the use of technologies and communication skills. It is also noted that male and female teachers have different experiences in the teaching profession, as do younger and older teachers. It is concluded that public policies should become references for the approach to an egalitarian society, where the profession is the same for men, women, young and old.
