El Hospital-Asilo del Santísimo Sacramento de Orcera (1945-1973)
The Hospital-Asilo del Santísimo Sacramento de Orcera was a attendance foundation promoted by Escolásico de la Parra de la Parra that dates back to 1921, to which was later added the contribution of Carmen Benavides Millán and the Orcera City Council itself. These facilities had a welfare nature intended for the home of the elderly without resources and sick people. Later, new services were added, such as educational services or maternity services. The changes in the health map of the province at the beginning of the 70s of the last century, together with the decay of the building itself, led to the extinction of the foundation that governed the Hospital-Asylum in 1973. The building was demolished and its site currently of Orcera’s Centro de Participación Activa.
