Energia sustentável, soberania alimentar e desenvolvimento da agricultura familiar em um município do alto sertão paraibano
Centralized photovoltaic energy generation is currently the main investment model for renewable energy worldwide. However, several studies highlight that this model can generate negative socio-environmental impacts, particularly in regions that rely on family farming. This study analyzed the risks and uncertainties associated with family farming production and food sovereignty in the municipality of São José da Lagoa Tapada, located in the interior of Paraíba, considering the proposed implementation of a centralized solar photovoltaic energy project. This descriptive research adopts a qualitative approach, providing a technical-scientific understanding of photovoltaic energy and its potential impacts on a region heavily dependent on family farming. The results indicate that the adoption of centralized energy generation poses significant risks to local agricultural production and, consequently, to the food sovereignty of the community. Therefore, it is concluded that these impacts must be carefully considered in the planning and decision-making processes regarding the implementation of renewable energy projects in the municipality.
