Entre sabotaje, subversión y continuidad. Los géneros populares en la narrativa de Belén Gopegui, Isaac Rosa y Marta Sanz
Belén Gopegui, Isaac Rosa, and Marta Sanz, representative authors of the social orientation in 21st-century Spanish literature, extensively incorporate elements of mass literature genres into their narratives. The aim of this article is to demonstrate that the use of subgenres—once a hallmark of postmodern literature—in the works of these authors involves, more than subversion, the appropriation of the playful and dynamic potential of these models. The narratives of these authors are analyzed using, among other frameworks, the categories of fabulation (Scholes) and parody in its various forms (Genette, Hutcheon), as well as the concept of “metamodernism” (Vermeulen and Van der Akker), which combines postmodern aspects with a sense of commitment.
