El niño que trabaja en una ciudad del interior de la Argentina: Experiencias y voces infantiles (Córdoba, 1927)

This article addresses working children in Córdoba (Argentina) in the context of a growing urban economy, based on an extraordinary source that brings them to light and restores some of their voices: a serie of news pieces published in 1927 in a children’s weekly of a local paper. These brought to light the reality of children’s work using the rather unusual approach of interviewing them. This article continues previous research on these infants’ type of labour, trajectories, and work aspirations. Now, part of their experiences as child workers access to education, family situation, child contribution to their survival are recreated, and it goes beyond the labour world, considering them as little actors who contributed to shaping the society of the time.
