Equidad de género: desafíos educativos para empoderar a las mujeres y reducir las desigualdades

This article analyzes the educational challenges for reducing gender inequalities through education aligned with Sustainable Development Goal 5, “Gender Equality.” Through a critical documentary review, the search for information related to concepts such as gender equity, women’s empowerment, and cultural transformation was prioritized. The qualitative methodology employed included the selection and analysis of academic sources, reports from international organizations, and normative documents, prioritizing those that address the relationship between gender and education from an interdisciplinary perspective. The results highlight that women face significant barriers to accessing education, employment, and political participation. However, inclusive and transformative educational processes can challenge traditional roles, promote female leadership, and build a more equitable society. This approach not only promotes sustainable development but also drives cultural changes for the benefit of all. The conclusions emphasize the need to coordinate efforts between governments, educational institutions and communities to ensure equitable and safe educational environments, essential for empowering women and contributing to social progress
