Desempenho de saltos verticais nas fases do ciclo menstrual de jovensatletas de voleibol

The study of women in sport still presents difficulties because of the ambiguity of the hormones progesterone and estrogen during the phases of the menstrual cycle. However, several studies attempt to identify the relationship between sports performance and this important event present in women's lives. Given the above, the present study aimed to analyze how each phase of the menstrual cycle can influence the jumping performance of volleyball athletes. Two types of jumps were performed (type CMJ and SJ) and the study included 7 participants, with anaverage age range of 22 years, with a minimum age of 19 years and a maximum age of 24 years. Finally, it was not possible to obtain statistically significant comparisons, leading to the conclusion that hormonal variation does not interfere with physical capabilities, but menstrual symptoms caused by hormonal variation tend to interfere psychologically with sports performance.
