Desarrollo de la Memoria de Trabajo para la Mejora de la Habilidad Lectora en Estudiantes del Subnivel Elemental

This study examines the relationship between working memory and the development of reading skills in elementary-level students. The research is based on the premise that strengthening working memory, along with other cognitive functions such as attention and executive functions, significantly contributes to improving reading and text comprehension. The aim of the intervention is to design and implement neuropsychological strategies to optimize students’ reading abilities. To this end, thematic units have been structured, incorporating techniques for attention and concentration, mnemonic strategies, intensive reading practice, and reading comprehension, as well as workshops focused on creativity and the development of executive functions. These activities are carried out through concentration games, targeted working memory exercises, guided and independent reading, and creative dynamics, using appropriate material and technological resources. The sessions are organized progressively to address students' individual cognitive needs through an inclusive and adaptive approach. The intervention is expected to lead to significant improvements in reading skills, demonstrating that an educational neuropsychological approach can be an effective strategy within the school setting. Finally, the study highlights the importance of integrating neuropsychological methodologies into the school curriculum to foster cognitive and academic development, promoting more meaningful and autonomous learning.
