Descripción Clínica y Angiográfica de Pacientes con Cateterismo Cardiaco Reportados “Sin Lesiones Angiográficamente Significativas” en Neiva (Huila)
Introduction: An increasing number of patients with acute coronary syndromes show no obstructive coronary lesions on angiography, suggesting conditions such as myocardial infarction with non-obstructive coronary arteries (MINOCA). Objective: To clinically and angiographically describe patients who underwent cardiac catheterization and were reported as having "no angiographically significant lesions" at a tertiary-level hospital in the city of Neiva, during the period from January 2023 to June 2024. Methods: This was a cross-sectional observational descriptive study based on medical records of 176 patients treated between January 2023 and June 2024. Sociodemographic, clinical, angiographic, and outcome variables were analyzed. Results: A total of 84.6% showed no obstructive coronary lesions. The most common symptoms were chest pain (84.1%) and dyspnea (51.7%). Hypertension was the most frequent risk factor (55.6%). The left ventricular ejection fraction was normal in most cases, and no in-hospital mortality was recorded. Conclusions: The absence of significant coronary lesions does not rule out a clinically relevant risk. This clinical profile underscores the need to evaluate alternative causes such as microvascular dysfunction or vasospasm and to strengthen diagnostic protocols to optimize the management of these patients.
