The Current Situation of Woody Plants in the Botanical Garden of Kagoshima University

The current situation of woody plants was studied in the botanical garden of Kagoshima University. The girth at breast height and tree height were measured, the diameter at breast height and basal area were calculated, and the tree volume was estimated. In 2022, 155 tree species were found in the garden, indicating a significant reduction of tree species richness in the past 19 years.
