Competência moral: ma análise das pesquisas brasileiras e a necessidade da construção de um instrumento de avaliação da competência moral para crianças a partir de 10 anos
This study conducts a systematic review of literature, without meta-analysis, that used the application of the Moral Competence Test (MCT) and its variants in Brazil, focusing on academic productions between 2010 and 2024. The selection was based on the validation of the test in Brazil in 2010. The MCT, developed by Georg Lind, is an instrument used to measure Moral Competence, which refers to the ability to judge ethical conflicts in a consistent and rational manner. The investigation was conducted by searching academic databases, CAPES Journal Platform and the Brazilian Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations (BDTD), using the keyword "Moral Competence" and as an additional field, "Education". The main objective was to identify the number and nature ofBrazilian studies that used the MCT and its variants, as well as to map the most investigated areas of knowledge in the field of education. The results reveal a small number of studies that apply the test in Brazil, with the majority being concentrated inhigher education, especially in medical, nursing and pedagogy courses. Thus, the analysis also found the absence of studies focused on the Development of Moral Competence in children, highlighting a gap in research on the subject in the school context in basic education. It is concluded that there is a need to expand research on moral competence to other audiences and contexts when it comes to education, aiming to promote ethical development from childhood, with the need for an assessment instrument appropriate for this audience.
