Certificados Eco-Ambientales. Su importancia para la Arquitectura y el Diseño Industrial
Architects and industrial designers can encourage the promotion of responsible consumption (SDGs Goal 12) by considering the integration of certifications and eco-labels on their products and highlighting that they are less harmful to the environment. It encourages sustainable consumption and reduces the ecological footprint of consumers and is an incentive for companies to improve their production processes and adopt more sustainable practices to obtain these certifications.Promotion of Sustainable Consumption: By highlighting products that are less harmful to the environment, eco-labels encourage responsible consumption and reduce the ecologi-cal footprint of consumers and are an incentive for companies to improve their production processes and to adopt more sustainable practices in order to obtain these certifications.Environmental certifications are granted by independent bodies that verify that a prod-uct, service or company complies with certain environmental standards. These certifica-tions cover aspects such as waste management, energy efficiency, emissions reduction and the use of sustainable resources. The certifications provide a standardized framework for evaluating environmental performance, allowing objective comparisons between prod-ucts and companies at a global level. It also encourages continuous improvement and can attract consumers and business opportunities. Therefore, designers and architects need to be aware of this issue so that, in the design and decision-making process, it is considered as a requirement to cover, by regulation, in order to compete in the markets and offer better sustainable options.
