Bote isso na cabeça: um relato de experiência sobre um projeto de extensão com foco na prevenção de acidentes motociclísticos na cidade de Codó-MA

One of the major currentacademic concerns is to get students involved in activities that are related to their field while still undergrad, aiming to enable the development of soft skills that will positively impact their performance as professionals. In this context, this article aims to report from the initial planning to the implementation of the “Put It In Your Head” extension project. Developed by Medicine students from the Faculdade de Ciências da Saúde Pitágoras de Codó, the action focused on raising awareness about trafficsafety and the importance of wearing helmets for motorcyclists. The initiative aimed to promote greater awareness among the population about the necessary precautions in traffic, in addition to allowing students to have greater contact with the community in which the college is located. The results demonstrate that the population addressed was interested in the information provided by the academics, in addition to a notable resourcefulness on the part of the students during the action. Therefore, it is possible to state that the project successfully achieved the proposed objectives.
