Buen Vivir y calidad de vida de los grupos étnicos en Ecuador: Una mirada socio estadística
The relevance of Good Living as a socio-historical paradigm seems to be beyond discussion in the Ecuadorian context, especially since the Constitution of the Republic of Ecuador of 2008 was approved, which incorporated the indigenous worldview that implies Good Living, as a guide for practices that involve the search for human development, above the extractivist economic conception. In line with this idea, this article proposes as a general objective an analysis of Good Living and the quality of life of ethnic groups in Ecuador, considering some statistics related to life expectancy and mortality rate in different population segments. Specifically, it delves into the elements that characterize the notion of Good Living when considering some human development indices. The hermeneutic analysis of the literature and the review of some statistics on mortality rates, according to age groups and gender, show as results that the implementation of public plans and policies, linked to the vision of Good Living, can significantly impact the elevation of the quality of life and a reduction of disease and mortality rates in ethnic groups in Ecuador.
