Assistência de enfermagem aos portadores de deficiência auditiva: comunicação efetiva
Hearing impairment is characterized by partial or total loss of the ability to hear, measured by audiometry at certain frequencies, thus hindering the individual's effective communication. Thus, this research aimed to identify in the scientific literature the limitations of nursing care provided to patients with hearing impairment. This is a descriptive study, of the Integrative Literature Review (RIL) type, from February to May 2023, in the SCIELO and LILACS databases, with the descriptors: Deafness, Communication and Assistance. The sample consisted of 10 articles. People with deafness face many barriers in health services, such as lack of accessibility, unpreparedness of professionals regarding communication, long lines, lack of facilitators inthe units to improve reception, among other problems. It is clear that professionals still do not have strategies to provide care to vulnerable people. The service is precarious when it comes to offering individualized assistance to this group, since whenthey need to go to health units, they must be accompanied by family members to mediate communication. The presence of facilitators in the units is still limited, only in well-structured ones. It is necessary for public agencies to invest in the qualification of professionals to serve vulnerable groups.
