Ansvarsfördelning vid skötsel av gröna väggar i Paris

In Paris, the departments of the Green spaces and environment department are greening the city to help the urban area adapt to climate change. At the heart of this strategy are green walls installed on public buildings (schools, administrative buildings, sports facilities, etc.) by the Green Building Division. Once installed, the plants require regular maintenance, which justifies the emergence of a network of players around these objects. This article analyzes the interactions that develop in the network surrounding the production of green walls based on a series of interviews conducted during participant observation. I examine when and how the work involved in maintaining green walls is distributed and valued. I develop the concept of management through the ecosystemic discipline to characterize the ability of public services to motivate actors who live or work near green walls to maintain them, using a discourse revolving around gardening.
