Att spåra det förflutna : En analys av bosättningsmönster i östra Makedonien
This thesis examines long-term patterns of human settlement in Eastern Macedonia from the Neolithic to the Roman period. Using spatial analysis, it investigates how topographic factors, specifically slope, aspect and elevation, influenced where people chose to live. The study identifies broad preference for gentle slopes and south-facing terrain, while also noting shifts in elevation preference over time in both new and cumulative settlement data. These patterns are interpreted through a theoretical framework based on agency, entanglement and defensiveness to better understand the human and settlement choices present in within the study area.
