Análise da cobertura vegetal da barragem Saulo Maia no município de Areia-PB (2011 –2020: uma abordagem a luz da legislação ambiental e da ecossocioeconomia

Man's relationship with the environment that surrounds him is marked by an intense interaction, where man exerts a preponderance in intervening and modifyingthe natural environment. In the semi-arid region of the Northeast, this interaction takes on even more relevant contours when related to water and the vegetation that borders the springs;given this, this work focused on the study of the Saulo Maia Dam because it is a water reservoir of strategic importance for water security in the Agreste region of Paraíba, especially between the years 2011 and 2019, a period of great drought in the region.During this period, when the other reservoirs were at critical levels, the dam was responsible for supplying several municipalities in the microregions of Brejo, Borborema plateau and some locations in Rio Grande do Norte, either through public supply or through water trucks. To carry out the study, a survey was carried out through geoprocessing of the area's vegetation cover between the years 2011 and 2020, and the images were analyzed in light of Brazilian environmental legislation and the ecological dimension
