Adherencia Terapéutica en Pacientes con Enfermedades Crónico-Degenerativas, de la Parroquia Ciano y Vicentino
This study evaluated therapeutic adherence in patients with chronic degenerative diseases from two health posts in Ecuador, with the participation of 65 patients who freely and voluntarily accepted to participate. A estructured survey was applied for data collection, consisting of 3 sections: the first was on sociodemographic data, the second was the PACIC questionnaire, and the last was the 8-item Morisky adherence scale. The obtained data were represented using the Statistical Program for Social Sciences (SPSS), Kolmogorov-Smirnov tests suggested the use of non-parametric test, and the Spearman correlation coefficient (rho) with a significance leve lof α = 0,05 allowed for establishing associations in the data, yielding results that highlight a significant relationship. It is concluded that regarding therapeutic adherence, a highly favorable perception of the care provided by health personnel was identified, which positively influenced adherence. It is concluded that improved communication, follow-up, and education from health personnel could significantly strengthen therapeutic adherence in this population.
