The article briefly describes the influence of the information society on the formation of the personality. It identifies global problems and value orientations that underlie the formation of the innovative culture of teacher. The essence of the concept of an innovative culture is revealed, and a list of skills and knowledge that constitute its composition is given. It is emphasized that the education system, which meets the requirements and needs of modern society, plays a leading role in the formation of innovative culture. Considering the innovative culture of a teacher as a system of values, attitudes and behavior that contribute to the introduction of the latest pedagogical practices and technologies into the educational process, the author explores the global information environment that offers individuals a variety of information products and services. It is precisely the possession of the skills necessary for free activity in the information environment that constitutes a necessary factor in the formation of the innovative culture of a modern teacher.
