Upplevelsen av work-life balance vid distansarbete : En kvalitativ studie

Abstract The purpose of the study is to examine the experience of work-life balance when working remotely. And to examine how demands, control and support interact in people's experiences of balance between work and personal life when working remotely. The investigation is based on eight interviews. The results showed, among other things, that participants experienced increased demands in remote work due to greater responsibility for controlling and planning their work from home, while the available support from colleagues had decreased for some, especially the spontaneous and informal support. Several participants described a sense of increased freedom and flexibility in relation to work-life balance, but also an increased sense of responsibility and the need for self-discipline in their work. Difficulties in setting boundaries between work and private life while working remotely were revealed, along with strategies used to manage these boundaries. Positive aspects also emerged, such as being able to work in peace from home and increased creativity when working remotely.
