Utveckling av en smartwatch-applikation för datainsamling med synkronisering av flera BLE-bärbara sensorer

This thesis presents the development and evaluation of a smartwatch-based application designed to efficiently collect, synchronize, and store data from wearable sensors. With the growing popularity of wearable devices for health monitoring and activity tracking, accurate synchronization across multiple independent devices has become more and more essential. To overcome these synchronization challenges of distributed devices, software-based synchronization methods, specifically Cristian’s and Marzullo’s algorithms, were implemented and evaluated. The performance of these methods was thoroughly tested, demonstrating a synchronization precision within approximately 60 milliseconds. Experiments were also conducted on system’s overall performance, including power consumption, storage efficiency, and data integrity. The proposed application was validated through extensive laboratory testing, demonstrating its robustness and effectiveness. The results support the feasibility of software-based synchronization solutions in wearable sensor networks and lay the groundwork for future improvements.
